Australian fragrances
At Archer Farrar, perfume begins where nature ends – fragrance with a focus on craftsmanship, patience, and respect for what the earth already perfected.

Founded by Sydney perfumer Katrina Cochrane, Archer Farrar Perfume Atelier grew from a lifelong fascination with scent, plants, and the quiet discipline of blending. After more than a decade in the wine world, Katrina returned to her first love, aromatics.
She then built her atelier around slow, small-batch creation using the finest botanicals she can source or grow herself.
This isn’t mass production; it’s perfume as a study in restraint. Every formula begins with essential oils, absolutes, and resins, then unfolds through organic grape-based alcohol or coconut oil, hand-bottled one litre at a time in Neutral Bay.
Our favourites: Forest Balsam: fir balsam, green mandarin, and alpine lavender open into cedarwood and hinoki before settling into sweet ash and amber. It smells like a mountain morning thinning into dusk. Sandara is mandarin and pink pepper forward, with a heart of basil, orange blossom, and rose over smooth sandalwood and amber.

Every Archer Farrar perfume is built on time-honoured technique and respect for the raw materials that make it possible.
Katrina’s background in aromatherapy shows in her balance: nothing rushed, nothing wasted, everything serving the whole composition.
For clients seeking something personal, the atelier also offers a bespoke service, involving two sittings to build a fragrance that exists nowhere else, guided by Katrina’s instinct for proportion and her understanding of scent as memory and identity intertwined.
